Project
Subscriptions and Payments for a Telegram SaaS
A Telegram bot turned into a complete payment and activation funnel: Stripe checkout, PDF invoices, team alerts and accounting without manual steps.
Overview
An end-to-end subscription and billing system for a Telegram-based service, built in n8n for SaaS products, paid APIs and subscription services that need reliable payments, instant onboarding and clean accounting.
For the customer
- The customer starts the bot with /start and chooses a one-time payment or a recurring subscription.
- The bot replies with a secure, personal Stripe payment link; the customer’s Telegram ID travels with the payment.
- After payment the customer receives a confirmation and a link to the invoice in the same chat.
Behind the scenes
- A Stripe webhook drives everything after checkout, so actions run only for confirmed payments; duplicate events are dropped.
- An engineer is notified in Slack with structured client data, so the service is activated without back-and-forth.
- A PDF invoice is generated, stored in Google Drive and shared; the transaction and the invoice link are logged in Notion for accounting.
- Payment requests and their status are tracked in Google Sheets.
Business impact
- No manual billing or onboarding work.
- Fewer payment errors and no missed activations.
- Scales with the number of users; suitable for an MVP and for production.
The screenshots come from a demo environment with test data and Stripe test mode: no real customers or live payments are shown. The logic is the same as in production.
