The Cipher Bureau Privacy Policy
The Cipher Bureau has no accounts and works offline. Your progress stays on your device. The app downloads new game content from my server; it does not send your progress or identifiers with those requests.

Who is responsible
Pending Name of the developer or entity responsible (data controller) and a contact address are pending owner confirmation.
Data stored on your device
- Game progress: solved puzzles, cases, evidence, daily streaks and rewards.
- Settings: language, sound, accessibility options and reminder preferences.
- An installation ID: a random identifier created at first launch and shown in Settings, so you can mention it in a bug report. The app never sends it anywhere.
- Downloaded game content and its artwork.
This data stays on your device. Deleting the app deletes it; backups made by your device’s operating system may contain a copy.
Content updates
When a connection is available, the app checks cb-content.shinkarenko.eu for new cases and downloads them over HTTPS. These requests contain no account, progress or identifier from the app. As with any internet request, the server and Cloudflare, which delivers the content, receive technical data such as your IP address and the time of the request.
Pending Whether request logs are kept, and for how long, is pending owner confirmation.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, the app asks for permission to show notifications and schedules them on your device. Nothing about them is sent to a server.
Analytics, advertising and purchases
The current version collects no usage statistics, shows no advertising and offers no in-app purchases. It has no crash-reporting service.
The app contains, but does not use for advertising, the Google Mobile Ads and User Messaging Platform libraries and the platform in-app purchase libraries, which are prepared for a future version. Before any of these features or optional usage statistics are switched on, this policy will be updated and, where required, your consent will be asked in the app.

Accounts and children
The app has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email or other contact details.

Your rights and contact
Because your game data is stored only on your device, you control it directly: deleting the app removes it. Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, you can contact me about any personal data question and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Changes
This policy will be updated before the app starts processing data differently, with a new date above.
